Mission, Vision, and Values
Westside Community Center exists
To build community through relationships.
Our Mission
Is to empower families and youth academically, socially and spiritually, inspiring them to take on leadership roles in their community.
Our Vision
We will be a center that not only serves the community, but one that is served by the community. Those who live within the community that the center serves will teach the programs and services offered by the Westside Community Center.
Our Core Values
Asset Based | We realize that our target community, like all of us, has glaring needs. We seek to reconcile those needs in our community through relationships. We want to begin asking the question, "What God given gifts, or 'assets', do you possess that you can use to improve your life and the lives of those around you?"
The gospel of Jesus Christ | Everyone has a reason for the things that they do. For us we believe that it is the gospel of Jesus Christ that redeems and transforms both the hearts of people and their communities.
Partnership | We will work with a wide variety of partners and advocates for a combined quality effort.
Respectfulness | We respect the choices, beliefs and ideals of all people. We respect the role that families have in helping to shape these choices as well.
Diversity | We will not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion; we seek to build relationships with and empower as many people as possible.
Financial Sustainability | We believe the work we do will be valued for many years into the future. Therefore, we strive to deliver on our mission with thoughtful strategic choices that ensure we have sufficient financial resources.
